Traveling on business what could be better? Really I guess traveling isn’t the right word I’m only gone for a night, but its the first time i’ve had to do so. I’m sitting here using hotel wireless in a room in the middle of nowhere Kentucky. I’ve been on the road for nearly 8 hours to go to 45 minutes worth of meetings in the morning and head back home. Seem like a waste of company money to anyone else? Oh well gotta do what you gotta do. I’ll be back Monday evening and I am supposed to close on my house on Tuesday if all goes well. I really would rather not been out of town right now as I have tons of other stuff to do. Ahh you go where the people signing you paycheck tells you to go. But, I’ve realized business class hotel rooms are much much much nicer than the regular ones.

Personal Rant
So, my wife and I our trying to buy our first house and as I mentioned in a previous post we found the house we wanted, made an offer that was accepted and then went on to the mortgage phase. We have great credit no problem there. We were approved for our financing and it moved on to the underwriters. Now because we are first time home owners we qualify for a special mortgage from the state. Sounded great, but here we are supposed to close on this coming Tuesday and the state has come in with a laundry list of things they want done. All stupid things mind you like they want the old windows to be rehung with new rope for the weights and reglazed. Needless to say no one does that anymore and its only a few of the windows in the house that are still the old wood windows. They want us to regrade the yard … its November in West Virginia not really a good time to be putting dirt out. All of it is just stupid things like that, things that are not doable this time of year. So we are trying a few things and hopefully will still be able to close on Tuesday … but I doubt it.

Personal Rant
The second we found out that we were expecting a baby our one-bedroom apartment became infinitely smaller. So a few weeks ago we decided it was time to buy a house. This only happened after 
realizing that we spend more in rent than we would a mortgage payment so … what the heck lets buy a house. After looking at 6 houses we’ve decided on the second one we saw. Its a small three bedroom, two bath home with a nice yard, garage and dry basement (something that’s hard to come by in Wheeling, WV) and the price was right. We made an offer last night of $60,000 which the seller has accepted. So hopefully by Thanksgiving we will be in our new home.

I’ve had this domain name as a blog for a few years now. It started as a technology blog but I was way to lazy to keep up with that so after sitting idle for almost a year (strange last real post was the day before i got married….) i’ve decided to make this my personal ranting blog. Not that anyone will read it, but hey thats not the point.
